Being optimistic is an act of having a favorable view of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome; demonstrating or reflecting a favorable view of events and conditions and the expectation of a positive outcome. Being pessimistic is the other way around. Being optimistic is good for you. Optimism is a key to success. It gives meaning to one’s life. Optimism lets a person gain confidence. It brings positive change to one’s mind, so he can overcome his problems successfully.
An optimistic person is one who never gets discouraged by any state of affairs, but sets his or her mind on positivity rather than negativity which in turn leads him or her to bring improvements. He is a person who knows for certain that whatever be the area of trouble, there may be positive or alternative ways through which he can come out from various difficult situations courageously.
Being optimistic is to stay motivated and being motivated helps in achieving dynasty while overcoming negativity.

Positive thoughts also enhance lower anxiety; they also have lower blood pressure. After all, stress and blood pressure often go hand in hand. Hence, keep your thoughts optimistic for a healthy heart and increases longevity.

An added plus in an organization is the fact that optimism makes you smarter. Enough researches have shown that positive emotions actually fuel creativity and enhance one’s reasoning skills, thereby creating more successful results. Cos a positive mood changes the way your brain processes information. If you’re under stress, feel beaten down, or in a sad mood, your brain hunkers down.
Optimism promotes self confidence and boosts self esteem; ensures focus; promotes bonding between individuals; reduces the level of your frustrations and worries; promotes forgiveness; it also enhances effective communication.
Developing an Optimistic Mindset
People who are optimistic and confident believe that they can do anything they put their mind to. Hence to develop this type of mindset you must key to this. Also;
o Don’t be afraid to try new things
o Inspire the people around you towards a shared vision or goal;
o See the possibilities and opportunities that other people might miss
o Be less likely to give up the first time something goes wrong
o Always bounce back more quickly after failure or rejection;
o Get excited about overcoming challenges rather than discouraged by them.
When you find yourself being negative or pessimistic, pause for a while and gaze on the bright side. Prepare yourself for the inevitably of “failure” when trying something new and plan on trying and trying again until you succeed.
