“There was a point when I didn’t feel inspired and couldn’t figure out how to get inspired. I was frustrated because I felt my life had no direction. I had no idea what to do.”
Is this a problem you’re having too?
Our everyday lives are often hectic, with several expectations and ressures. Many deadlines to meet and daily routine tasks to complete can leave little or no time to finding the inspiration we need to get through the day. Aside from the passing of time, our lifestyle impacts our ability to focus, drive, and even create significant goals. To be able to churn out the maximum creative juices, we need to be inspired!
But first, what is inspiration?
Inspiration is a vital force that can help you regain control over an overwhelming life. It is a beautiful new fresh feeling accompanied by fresh creative wonderful thoughts. Inspiration is the key to motivation – the key to moving forward, doing your best, trying new things, and staying focus. When we’re inspired, everything seems to work together and fine. Most importantly, inspiration is necessary, and the absence or lack of it may have a detrimental effect on your success.
When you feel inspired from your heart, you feel excited, happy, and experience certain lightness. You will have inspirational thoughts comprised of fresh new insights and creative ideas. You’ll feel you have a lot of energy and be compelled to take action with these ideas and create something unique and wonderful.
Why is inspiration important?
The role of inspiration is more than just a drive to action. Inspiration enables you to understand the essence of yourself and what you have to offer.
- It breathes life into your daily routine and helps you remember why you do what you do.
- It can eliminate those dreaded and apathetic cycles.
- It paves your way to hope, happiness and imparts a sense of individuality.
- It wakes us up from a big sleep – asleep where we see every day as the same.
- Leads to new possibilities by allowing you to rise above your ordinary limitations and experiences to something unique and meaningful.
- Revitalizes your focus and restores your emotional well being
- It propels you from droopiness to possibility and also changes the way you see your potentials.
- It helps you find your purpose, tune in to your values, and achieve your goals.
What inspires you?
One of life’s biggest challenges is to continue to push through. If nothing inspires you, excites you, or lights up your life, then you are missing something. Inspiration can come from a variety of sources. Sometimes it will come from the blue like a gift.
Different people have different perspectives about getting inspired. Some people are inspired by humans and their ways of living. Some people derive inspiration from nature. Some people find inspiration in maintaining a healthy lifestyle by observing people many years ahead of them who’s still making it happen. Some of us may need to look within for inspiration, while others have to look outwards.
What inspires you? What inspired you to paint, draw, sing, and produce that piece of work? What makes you continue to do what you do for hours, even when you forget the need to eat and drink?
There is no one-answer-fits-all when it comes to finding inspiration. There can also be multiple answers for an individual. For me, I find inspiration in writing just about everything. I see connections everywhere, even in the most mundane events. I am inspired by the fact that I may help another person remove the blinkers and reach their possibilities through what I do. I am also inspired, often when I have had an experience that has changed me and given me new awareness, new insights, and clarity of where I am going.
Nobody can tell you what will inspire you; you will have to find out yourself. But whatever may be the source of your inspiration, one thing is common: inspiration is an underlying factor that can help you lead a meaningful life.
Inspiration is the core of your very being. And when you tap into whatever it is that inspires you; you will be able to share your emotions, thoughts, and ideas. As you share and show your dreams, emotions, ideas, and thoughts, you gradually begin to understand the person you truly are.
Don’t know what inspires you?
While the inspiration process may sound easy, it often requires real Planning. Inspiration is often gained when you are intentional about finding it. So how do you find inspiration? How do you exploit it to change your life and achieve success?
1. Find your Place
You should have a special place to reflect, think, feel inspired, and then spend some time there. Make it a routine part of your life.
2. Focus on what you want now.
Always focus on what you want in life. Since inspiration sources keep changing, you need not think about the past for inspiration. Think about what you want now. What is it that inspires you right now? Where do you wish you were, or what do you want to do right now? Your sincerity to these questions will lead you to your inspiration source.
3. Learn Constantly in Life:
Creativity and brain activity stimulate inspiring experiences. Keep yourself active and inspired using music, puzzles, books, games, and other challenging activities. Regardless of your age, exploring new things is a great way to get inspired.
4. Turn to nature
Nature can inspire almost everyone. If you are not feeling inspired, take a walk. Free your mind of all worries and go out in cool weather to enjoy the beauties of nature. From water bodies to different plants to exciting animals and other amazing surprises, you will find inspiration in nature.
If you still couldn’t find your source of inspiration, then try the following:
A) Spend Time with Inspiring People: Everyone around you inspires. Children, for instance, have an astounding effect on people. When you interact with them on their level or even watch them play, you can revitalize your childhood dreams – those dreams that have ‘gone on sleeping vacation.’ Think of other people who might also inspire you. The more you talk to relevant people, the more you will learn. Without socializing, you will only sit in one place with one particular mindset. Leave that spot! Meet with different people and learn new things from them.
B) Get an inspiration Book: Make sure you write down all those little ideas that pop into your head when you least expect them. Immediately! Interestingly enough, you can get these ideas during daily mundane tasks, like driving, washing dishes, taking a shower, fixing the vacuum, mowing grass, etc. But these thoughts disappear immediately they come into your head. So grab them while you can, write them down, and then review your book whenever you need inspiration.
C) Read or listen to something inspirational. Read an inspiring book, watch an inspiring movie, or listen to inspiring music that touches your heart. If you don’t have time to read, rent or purchase an audiobook to listen to during your daily commute.
D) Subscribe to inspirational blogs or groups on social media. There are a lot of great inspirations available for free out there. Subscribing to blogs is convenient because the posts or quotes will be delivered directly to your inbox. And if you’re going to be on social media, you might as well use the time to be inspired.
E) Seek help. Talk to someone who inspires you. A coach will assist you with the inspiration and accountability you need to get and stay on track.
Finding your source of inspiration could be as simple as having a short nap, but it might take extraordinary steps to do so. Once you realize your inspiration, you’ll be sure to find ways to hone what triggers your inspiration.
Achieving Success Through Inspiration
Inspiration is the key to success. It helps you even through the darkest challenges of life. Coupled with enthusiasm, perseverance, determination, and endurance, it can make you successful. Motivation and inspiration go together when it comes to achieving success. You also need to have internal factors such as your personality and positive attitudes, knowledge, interests, and thought processes. These internal factors have to align with what you encounter in the outside world. Inspiration occurs when the external object fits exactly with your mental orientation or internal need for creativity. Regardless of your circumstance, make sure you have the right attitude, without which it would not be easy on your part to move ahead. Have faith in yourself. The more you believe in yourself, the easier it is to achieve your desired success.
We live in a world that is passionate about ability and talent, but we often ignore the significant role that inspiration plays – probably due to its indescribable nature. Inspiration comes from within. And to be genuinely inspired, you need to start with something you love the most. Before you know it, you’ll realize that it will help lead a successful and meaningful life. I would be glad to hear how this article has been helpful to you.
