Adversity Introduces A Man To Himself
Adversity has knocked on all our doors at least once. May be more than once. Some of us face it every day and fight it. Many of us burn ourselves to ashes like a phoenix and bring ourselves back to life probably every single day. Many of us are fighting battles inside our minds and hearts.
There are some battles that are invisible but their presence is so strong that it destroys a person’s peace of mind. Destroys or builds it? Now that is a question one must ponder on.
Going through a tough phase in life is very challenging. It leaves us feeling mentally exhausted and worn out. Sometimes it seems like a waste of effort. Adversity has a way of challenging us and beating us in ways that are unfathomable and unimaginable. But deep down at the end of all the darkness there is a glimmer of hope.
A little flare that motivates us to keep going, to keep embracing life and the desire to make sense of our difficulties. At the end of the day we ask ourselves what was it worth? Sometimes another perspective is all it takes to give you fresh eyes on your obstacles.
Discovering a new angle to view things, exploring a new dimension and creating a different understanding of your circumstances are what it all takes to change your mindset. Without pondering on every aspect of the experience you’ve been through; both good and bad you wouldn’t have the capacity to be the real you, full of flaws and full of victory.
Problems no matter how large or how small keeps coming our way. They present themselves to us throughout our whole journey called life. Regardless of how happy, fun, life-of-the-party sort of person we are there comes a time in life when we go through difficult situations and become blind to all the positivity and motivation around us.
We become negative, cynical and somewhat anti-social. Is this how a temporary thing like an adversity should be dealt with? No. Of course not. W should be thankful for adversity! Learning to deal with difficult situations shows us our strengths and abilities. It is like a mirror which reminds us of our resilience and perseverance.
It builds our character and teaches us how to confront life and stand tall no matter what. Every challenge we face serves as a building rock to strengthen our will, confidence and ability to conquer whatever life throws at us. It brings out our hidden strength which would have remained hidden otherwise.
It all starts with accepting the adversity and telling you that it is an integral part of life. The second step is to mentally prepare yourself that you must deal with it and you won’t let it dominate your whole existence.
Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional.
Build your inner strength and remind yourself what you’re capable of. Have faith and never let go of hope. Not only that, but you must build a support system around you. Someone you can turn to and confide in. Just the thought that someone is there relieves and refreshes us. Last but not the least let yourself get inspired. Observe the people around you and see how they are pushing past their adversities and succeeding in life. If they can do it why can’t you?
